Releasing under the title River City Girls Zero, it was recently delayed into early 2022. River City Girls 2 will have players returning to the streets of River City with Misako, Kyoko, Kunio, and Riki plus a few new playable characters. River City Girls 2 may have gotten a release window from Indie World, but same cannot be said for Hollow Knight: Silksong, sadly. The River City Girls are ready for round 2 When an old foe resurfaces, Misako, Kyoko, Kunio, and Riki joined by newcomers Marian and Provie hit the streets for an all-new beat-em-up adventure. The news was shared during Limited Run Games’ E3 2021 press conference today. The other title is an updated and localized port of Shin Nekketsu Kōha: Kunio-tachi no Banka, which has never seen a Western release and was the title that introduced the characters of Misako and Kyoko in 1994. River City Girls 2 is officially in development, WayForward has revealed.
This is one of two games currently in development under the River City Girls spin-off banner. Recruited foes are back to assist in battle - this time two can be held at once - and players can now enlist the help of hired henchmen who pack even more of a punch! Additionally, retro remaster River City Girls Zero will also. But the girls (and guys) aren’t just giving up they’re fighting back with new stat-altering accessories, new items, new weapons, and additional moves (such as Kyoko’s Cartwheel Kick and Misako’s Lightning Rider), along with brand-new abilities like guard-crush attacks and lift-off combos. River City Girls 2 will launch summer 2022 on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms. Picking up where its predecessor left off, River City Girls 2 throws hot-blooded high-schoolers Misako, Kyoko, Kunio, and Riki - along with newcomers Marian and Provie - into the fight of their lives when an old foe returns to wreak havoc. River City Girls 2, due out in 2022 for PC, Switch, Xboxes, and PlayStations, is more a straight follow-up to the 2019 release, with the same sassy style I fell in love with the first time around.
